Authentic Japanese A5 Wagyu striploin sourced directly from Japan and graded at the highest level under the Japanese Meat Grading Association. A5 represents top yield combined with elite meat quality, and this striploin typically grades in the BMS 10-12 range, where marbling is fine, uniform, and engineered by genetics to melt cleanly at body temperature. This grading and genetic standard exists only in Japan.
American and Australian “wagyu” are fundamentally different products. They come from crossbred cattle with inferior genetics, bred for scalability and cost efficiency rather than purity. Japanese A5 Wagyu is produced from closed bloodlines refined over generations for fat quality, texture, and flavor. The difference is structural, not subjective, and cannot be replicated outside Japan.
Striploin is valued in Japan for its clean structure and precise balance between lean meat and intramuscular fat. Compared to ribeye, it offers slightly more definition while retaining extreme richness and umami. It is one of the most versatile Japanese Wagyu cuts when cooked correctly.
This product includes one striploin steak weighing approximately 225 grams (about 0.5 lb). Weights are approximate, and images are representative only. Each steak is naturally different, which is inherent to real Japanese Wagyu.
Shipped frozen, which is the correct and standard method for handling Japanese A5 Wagyu for export. Freezing preserves fat integrity and flavor. The idea that premium beef should never be frozen does not apply to this category.
